IELTS Academic is for students applying to study at undergraduate or postgraduate levels. IELTS General Training is for those migrating to English-speaking countries (UK, Australia, Canada) or applying for secondary school training and work experience.

IELTS scores are valid for 2 years from the test date. After this period, you will need to retake the test if you still require a valid score for your application.

Most universities require an overall band score of 6.0 to 7.5. Top universities may require 7.0 or higher. For migration, Australia typically requires 6.0-7.0, Canada requires 6.0-7.0, and the UK requires 4.0-7.0 depending on the visa type.

Yes, you can retake IELTS as many times as you wish. There is no limit on the number of attempts. However, you will need to pay the full registration fee for each attempt. Some test centers offer a "One Skill Retake" option where you can retake just one section.
